Schedule:

12:00pm-1:00pm -
Lovin' the Blues: Moving your own body well is an important component to being able to move well with a partner.  You'll learn to get the most out of what you've got!

1:15pm-2:15pm -
Blues Connection: We’ll discuss the methods of connection that give dancing an organic look and feel that is natural and comfortable. Frame Matching can create a more exact connection that widens the possibilities of lead/follow and will put you more in tune with your partner, thus opening up the possibilities for creativity and self-expression.

2:15pm-3:00pm - Lunch

3:00pm-4:00pm -
Musicality: we’ll apply frame matching to blues moves and movements, freezes, slow motion, level changes, and tempo changes. *prerequisite: Blues Connection.

4:15pm-5:15pm -
Blues Moves: Learn fun & stylish moves for the social dance floor.

9:00pm-1:00am - Blues Dance w/ Ronnie Shellist Trio

A couple of notes:

This classes are limited! We are capping them at 50 people! That's 25 leaders and 25 follows.

We are trying to keep the lead:follow ratio even, so please purchase a pass as to whether you're a lead or a follow. And please, please come to all classes, since we are trying so hard to make the ratio even!

Since workshops are capped at 50, and we are maintaining the lead:follow ratio, none of the classes will be available individually.

Here's Ronnie Shellist and the band playing at Mile High Blues-

About the instructors-

Joe and Nelle are known for being very versatile dancers ranging from modern Jazz to vintage Blues to performance Lindy Hop. They possess an aesthetic quality that flourishes as a dance couple. They continually train, travel and teach worldwide and pride themselves with basing their dancing on original styles while continually striving for new ideas. They believe that Blues is a very eclectic dance. Within each genre and style of music there are rhythms and moods that change the Blues aesthetic and connection. The constant change and freedom within the music really attracts them to the dance. Blues is a feeling that comes from within. Itʼs an expression and release of style and personality. When you dance with a partner that can match you, you'll feel like the only dancer in the room… just you, your partner, the music and the floor.
